Robot Unicorn Attack - Game Review

I actually came across Robot Unicorn Attack on facebook.
But you can also find it on adultswim website.
It's a very simple, platform game.
You're obviously the unicorn and you have to run as far as you can, by jumping and smashing through the obstacles in the way.
You release rainbows from your backside when you jump which makes it very funny :')

Obviously the game isn't boring, it speeds up more and more till it flies past so fast you're not sure what's going on anymore. It is a very addictive so don't try playing it if you have upcoming deadlines or if you have a life D: cause you're going to loose it D:
The last thing I wanted to mention it the soundtrack, Erasure - Always, which is an unbelievably catchy song, and seems to go with the game very well.

Raskulls - Game Review

Raskulls is another Indie game.

It's a very unique racing game.
It's a game where you're little people, funny characters like pirates in funny costumes like ducks etc.
The aim of the game is to get to the finish line first, there is obstacles in a form of little blocks in the game and you have to smash them in order to get through, Along the way you pick up little power-ups. Those can very from invisibility, or triple smash or the ability to steal someone elses ability :')
I think there's only one thing that'll get you through, and this is pressing the smash button as fast as possible for about 5 minutes, if you can't do that, you're not in a chance of winning.
You run through the game, everything happens so fast I can't even remember what was going on in the background graphics-wise.
It's a sort of cartoony looking game and it gives it that childish feel. It's also highly addictive and great to play with friends.

Murder Miners - Game Review

What would happen if you mixed the sandbox creativity of Minecraft with the action and the strategy of Halo?
You get Murder Miners! It's a cheap Indie game, it's about 80 Microsoft points.
All the maps, are made from little blocks looking surprisingly similar to Minecraft blocks. When you go into the map settings you can even build it, like you do in Minecraft.
When it comes to gametypes, you get, for example snipers and zombies... which sounds familiar doesn't it, yes... it is exactly like Halo. The game play and all the game principles, just like in Halo.
But it's a fun game, if you like those types of games you wouldn't mind Murder Miners.
The only difference between this and other games is that in this you walk really really fast D: you literally get from one side of the map to the other in seconds :')
No but it's a fun little game, it's worth checking out : D

Guitar Hero - Game Review

Guitar Hero, is something different from just sitting there with a usual pad.
You get an awesome tiny plastic wannabe guitar and you have fun with it : D
No, I really do love guitar hero, I can sit there maybe not for TOO long cause my hand feels like it's breaking off, but I can play it for a while. It's one of those very competitive and addictive games. It's one of those reaction time, and hand-eye coordination games.
Personally when I haven't played for a hwile, I cannot get the right buttons with the right finger. And it's like this for a while, till I get used to it again.
It's not much about doing the campaign and playing songs, although that is alright every now and then.
But it's more about the you and your friends getting together, and seeing who can rock it's world more.

I made a game with zombies in it - Game Review

Just to clarify, I didn't make a game with zombies in it... that's what the game is called.
It's an indie game on xbox.
It's one of those very simple, yet addictive and funny games.
You and your friends ( it's way funnier to play it with people) are basically little people, that run around and shoot things. Lots of things... each level gets harder, you get swarms of different types of zombies to kill. You get different weapons that have a different range and some are way more powerful than others. I'll give you a hint, you want to have the flame thrower, and just stand in place and spin with it. Can't get more effective than this :')
Also it has the best background music of any game, ever.
It might not sound good to you when you just listen to it. But when you're in a game, and it kicks in it really makes you go for it.
Also the overall game impression, it's mental. And when the lights and the background start flashing all weird colours and stuff, and lots of zombies start spawning one on top of another... it's well timed with the music, so you basically know when to expect for the game to make your life very difficult.
Overall it's a great game to play with friends!

DeadRising - Game Review

Deadrising is an action rpg game.
It has a large amount of features, like you have a choice to complete a story line or you have a choice to ignore the storyline and kill as many things as you want in as many ways as you want. Anything fom guns to a teddy bear. Wanna kill things with a golf club? Kill things with a golf club... wanna kill things with a kids tricycle? Kill things with a tricycle and so on. This is actually what makes the game really funny, you get to stick things together in a maintenance room and create some weird weapons like a drill bucket, where you combine a bucket and a drill, then you are able to put the bucket over the zombies head, and it drills them to death. And for this reason, it isn't a children friendly game...
Another reason why it's not such a children friendly game is the target audience. It's aimed at men, and therefore it's got lots of half naked ladies posters and magazines all over.
Image vise, it isn't the best looking game but you really don't have time to look at that, cause you're having too much fun slaughtering bunch of zombies.
You obviously have to eat to make sure you don't dedz. So make sure to not get too much into just running around and killing, cause it might cost you your life. And if you didn't remember to go to the rest room at any point during your quest on killing zombies, you might need to start from the beginning D:

Topico 3 - Game Review

Tropico 3 is sort of a cross between a RTS game and a city builder. It's more about the economics. It's main points are, earning money for your country, and keeping the citizens of your country happy. And focuses less on actual warfare. So there's very little action but in terms of a RTS game it's right up there with the best.
You can earn money through starting up industries, like mining ores, oil, plantations like tobacco and sugar, tourism, logging camps.
You are El Presidente and you have to hold the throne! You can either do it completely legally cause your citizens love you, or not so legally and bribe them...
You can issue orders to kill people, if you have rebel groups forming around the country acting against you, you can easily have them killed : D
You have to keep the alliance between the USSR and USA or they will attack you. The thing about that is that you don't actually get to see anything or fight back. It just pops up with a message that their military ships are around your island and you have to do something about it.
You get natural disasters like tornadoes and earthquakes, but again, you don't see it, that well apart from your screen shaking, you just get a message saying a few buildings have collapsed.
Apart from that it's a really addictive game : D
Again one of those games that you play for hours like it's nothing : D
I recommend it, so go try it out : D

Age Of Empires - Game Review

The game I never shut up about, and I played since I remember... is Age Of Empires, Age of Empires II to be precise. I feel like the second on is much better than the newer one for many reasons.
Age of Empires is a real time strategy game. Or RTS for short.
There are many different game types you can choose from.
You can either start with just a town center and a few villagers, and send those out to collect all the things you need to expand your village, build catacombs and create an army. Or you can start up with lots of supplies, gold stone, food, wood, and play a racing game against someone else or the computer. In this type of game it's basically who is the best at time management. I personally start with building a wall around my village and making sure there is enough archers in the towers to protect me, whilst I build a huge army to attack the enemy.
I ponder my thoughts as I watch the enemies corpses pile up outside my city gates.
I love the little features, like collecting resources to make sure I have a sufficient amount for everything. But it's not just that easy, you do have to think everything through so you are not just collecting resources for example, you have to make sure your army is upgraded, and make sure everything has it's defenses
I mean it sounds pretty boring but you really get into it when you start playing. And one games can take hours and hours, obviously not if you're on the easiest difficulty but that's no challenge.
It is definitely a game I would recommend to everyone : D

Copyright

Obviously with us being a digital course and constantly sharing our work on our blogs. Not only that but also sharing other people's work and talking about it... We needed to know a thing or two about copyright.
We had a whole long presentation on copyright and I found it very interesting to be honest.
I found out that there isn't just one type of copyright, there's lots, like copyleft for example. Which I found funny... It's like a rebellious hippie of the group : D
But let's get to the point. I'm starting to rant again...

At first I was worried about posting my own work on the blog for the obvious reasons.
But it turns out that whatever I, or anyone else really, posts on here or anywhere else in the UK, we are automatically protected! We are covered by the Copyright, Design and UK Patents act of 1998.
Means we are automatically covered, we do not have to register it or anything.
And that's pretty good. Makes me wanna share my stuff rather than being afraid that it'll be stolen : D

Also it was important for us to know about copyright because we share other artist's work and talk about it.
I believe it is alright for us to do so because it's a non-commercial work, it is also for educational purposes.
Also I believe nobody ever complained about a free advertisement : D

Also there is a CreativeCommons company. A non profit organisation that provide a variety of licenses that vary from the 'all rights reserved'. For example some people might be happy with people editing and releasing their work as long as the original creator gets all the credit for it. Or some people are fine with sharing the work for commercial and non- commercial use, as long as it's passed along unchanged and with credit to you... aaaaand there is lots more, but I would spend waay to long trying to talk about them all.
All I am trying to tell you is that there are many ways you can share your work without the worry of it going wrong.

Social Networking

At the beginning of the year we were advised to create a blog, and join all sorts of other social networking sites. Like twitter and facebook etc.
The purpose of this was to follow the right people and companies. Be on top of all sorts of competitions and industry news, and obviously events. And most important of all, to get our name out there!
I find it quite useful, at first for example I couldn't get into blogging much, I didn't know what to say or if people are going to be interested in what I have to say.
But in time I found it quite rewarding to share my work, or just a few sketches with people and for those who viewed it giving me positive feedback : D
I did create a twitter account, and I did sort of follow a few people I like but, you don't see awesome images popping up. And this is a main reason why I' not so sure about Twitter. I think it's good for finding out about awesome events, or competitions more than finding inspiration etc.

Bungie - Destiny

I really wanted to talk about the thing that I am really looking forward to.
And that obviously is Destiny : D
With Destiny, Bungie seemed to approach it with a "go big, or go home!" attitude.
After the Halo series they have created, and already changed the whole first person shooters world. They are out on changing it again. And the expectations are very high mainly based on the pure awesomeness of Bungie itself. They are a living legend.
Many people say that this game is designed to be "the best shooter you've ever played." And just hearing that, just makes me really impatient D: I WANT IT NOOOW!
The storyline is supposed to be unfolding for 10 years or so. With secrets and clues not being obvious and/or  explained for years D: And that, is indeed very awesome : D As I always say, storyline, is half a battle.

In the game, players will take the role of the 'Guardians'. On the quest of protecting all they have left, and reclaiming all they have lost. They will have to battle alien species, set on destroying humanity's last man standing.
I've been reading about how much they have invested in this game. Apparently they spent more on concept art for Destiny, than they did on all Halo's combined! And I mean, that's a excessive amount.
They seem to be taking this veeeeery seriously, if they are investing so much into it.

What I've been quite happy about is finding out that the person they hired to do the music for Halo's - Marty O'Donnell, is working with them again!! YESSS!!! And he's working with THEE Paul McCartney.
I was so happy to hear that because I LOOOOOOVE the music from Halo.
Music in up to Halo 3, had certain attitudes that were obviously castrated in Halo 4.
But that's enough of my opinions etc.
Here is a bit of their concept art for the game.

And a few words from Activision, the producers.
"Set in the distant future, Destiny casts players as Guardians of the last city on Earth, who will traverse the ancient ruins of our solar system from the red dunes of Mars to the lush jungles of Venus.
Able to wield incredible power, players must battle humanity's enemies and reclaim all that was lost during the collapse of mankind's Golden Age. In a story-driven universe,
Destiny's saga unfolds through grand tales and sweeping adventures by immersing gamers in a bold new world filled with cooperative, competitive, public, and social activities, all seamlessly connected."

Other New Consoles

So apart from the new Xbox there are other new consoles coming out this and next year.
I read about most of them in the x360 magazine.
Right next to the article about the new Xbox there is a column named 'The Other Guys'.
These are: Stem Box, Ouya, Project Shield and Orbis.
Most of them is nothing special to me... like for example the Project Shield reminds me too much of a PsP and to be honest i don't like people that take someone elses idea and claim it as their own :s
I believe that the only difference is that the Project Shield you can connect to the tv with the HDMI cable... so not so much differences :s
PlayStation 4, officially names Orbis. Will apparently be released at the end of 2013 there is many things they're bragging about but to be honest but I couldn't really think about that after I found out an interesting piece of information. Apparently they have the ability to block USED GAMES D:
I mean if that's true, it seems to me like they're trying to commit suicide.
I mean we all know how popular the pre-owned games are. Most of the time games are in perfect conditions  they even have all the additional booklets and all with it... they're just cheaper than the brand new ones.
And it's a good thing for people that bought a game and finished it in a small amount of time, decided it's not worth it, then go sell it at any of the game shops, cause they all do it now... and but a game they will actually enjoy playing rather than the old one collecting dust.
Aaaand there is Steam Box... coming out in 2014.
I'm not sure what to say about it to be honest. PC in you living room. Because when you get PC gamers, they already have amazing computers to run their games on. They probably paid good money for that. I'm not sure if they would go out again, and pay more money to get a console that does the exactly same thing. And to be honest you can connect your pc to a tv without a problem so... I'm not sure how this one will go for them.

New Xbox

According to the Xbox 360 magazine 2014 will be a year of the next generation. Why? Because they think it's when the new Xbox will come out, that's why. Although it's just wild guesses about what it's going to look like, it's name, and the release date.
On Tuesday 21st of May 2013 we will find out what exactly to look forward to : D tis when they release all the information we want : D
So far with no idea what to expect, just the occasional rumours people talk about what they expect from the new console. Most of them want it to be really futuristic and all, I believe with the really high expectations they'll just end up being very disappointed. Obviously starting with the appearance of the box itself, you see some crazy concept art all over the place. And let's think realistically for a while, they have to make sure they're making money on it, a very complicated design will equal to production time being longer, a bigger chance for mistakes, more expensive material and that would obviously lead to the price being a lot higher. There they'd be risking people not actually deciding to buy it.
The concept art in the X360 magazine suggests there is 8 pads available to be connected to one box. Which I mean would be a good thing but when you think about it... you'd need a huge tv to be able to split the screen into 8 D:
Cause I mean with some games, like snipers for example, we struggle with 4 players, you can barely see the tiny heads you need to take out D:
Obviously we wanna see better quality gaming. We don't wanna see online lag possibly less crashes.
Some say that Microsoft will completely give up on 360 and they will stop producing and selling games for it. But I  think it's not going to happen for another few years. I believe it'll be the same situation as with PS2 and any other old console.
But I suppose there isn't any reason to worry about it till we actually find out what it's going to be.
Afterall they are a big company and they know what they're doing...they shouldn't make silly mistakes that would make us hate them.

Blizzard - Research

Since I've been researching all the game companies that I like. Obviously there has to be Blizzard somewhere in there from my love to Diablo.
Blizzard is an American game developer and publisher. Established in 1991.
At the moment the company employs around 4700 people.
The games it's most famous for are World of Warcraft, StarCraft and DIABLO.
I must admit that I only play Diablo... Diablo II to be precise.
I tried Diablo III, I waited a long time for it. But it wasn't the same. They ruined the way you level up... the customization of it, you can no longer choose the stats to add to, it sort of does it itself depending on all sorts of stuff. To me that equals to no fun -__-
Apart from that, it just didn't feel the same with better graphics. I preferred the really pixelated world somehow it felt, scarier D:
They somehow changed the way the gameplay feels. I didn't get addicted to it, like I did to Diablo II.
With Diablo II it was so bad, to the point where I went on holiday and had to find a computer to play, at least just for a bit D:
And here, I played for about an hour... and... I got bored! D:
But back to the company review...
I would say they pay more attention to WoW, and also try and milk it as much as possible.
It's a weird situation with Wow, cause you don't only have to buy a game, but also buy subscription to be able to play, you can either buy it monthly, or every year I believe. Which is a bit of a ripoff.
They wanted people to buy the subscriptions so bad. So so bad, that after promising to release Diablo III, decided not to release it. but instead give it away for FREE if you bought a 1 year subscription to WoW. That's pretty desperate.
I think Blizzard is a perfect example of a company that doesn't care about their players, but instead milk them as much as possible. And I don't like that.

Disseminate - Presentation

Here I just wanted to talk about how my presentation went.
I thought about writing up what my presentation looked like but it pretty much contained all the things I talked about in the last post.

Overall even though I was actually talking to my friends, I was pretty stressed... I can't explain it it's weird. I'm not a shy person I can talk for hours, in fact I think I talk too much.
It's just something about standing there and everyone looking at me, that makes me stressed.
What I was really happy about is that not only during but also after the presentation, we all started talking about the books we read, and recommended books to each other and overall started a positive conversation. So this is the outcome I was going for to be honest. I think it's always better if people get involved because then it shows that they're actually interested in what I'm talking about rather than them falling sleep.
What I wish I would've done is actually name the book titles that inspired the games I've mentioned because people were interested about those, probably wanted to read them.
I had a few notes on my presentation but unfortunately I forgot to put the titles down :s

I will probably have to give numerous presentations in the future which will result in gaining more confidence.
What I will make sure I write all of this sort of information down just in case someone will want to know, not only the writer's names but also the book titles.
Other than that, from my point of view the presentation went pretty well.

Disseminate - Preparing My Presentation

As one of our 'Personal and Professional Practice' tasks we have to prepare a presentation.
It could be anything, game review, film review. We could talk about the game companies we like or specific artists of whichever kind we want.
We are to present this to our fellow students, as a formal presentation.
I considered doing a game review like any other.
But I have decided that what inspires me the most isn't actually other people's work, not visual work anyway.
What inspires me the most and what has developed my imagination into what it is are books.
I was reading all sorts of books since I can remember and I still know people who wouldn't look at a book twice if someone was offering it.
I always keep trying to persuade people to read one good book, and if they didn't enjoy the experience I'll stop bugging them. It never fails. It's like a drug, once you sniff it, you're in it for life.
But since this presentation has to be relevant. I have decided to get a list of games and obviously movies that have been inspired by books. I didn't bother with movies too much, because most of them ARE based on books. Not so much with games. But some great games are indeed based on books.

During my research I found lots and lots of games, even the ones I play, are based on books. Some of the information wasn't obtained through facts but people playing the game, and realizing that the story seemed familiar... and sharing with everyone that it is in fact too similar to one of the books they've read.
I took this information into count because if one's story is very similar to another's the influence on one another is obvious.
So this are only a few I came across:
Assassins Creed, The Witcher, Alan Wake, BioShock, Alone In The Dark, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners Of The Earth, Fallout: New Vegas, Dracula: Origin, Metro 2033, Alice, Sherlock Holmes, S.T.A.L.K.E..R., Blade Runner, Dante's Inferno, Amnesia: dark descent, Halo.
And obviously needless to say, games and movies like Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings.
Inspired by writers like:
H.P. Lovecraft, Stephen King, Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyla, Bram Stoker, Lewis Caroll, Ayn Rand, Vladimir Bartol, Andrzej Sapkowski, Larry Niven.

I personally think that apart from good gameplay, graphics, music and sound, a great storyline is really important in a game. Infact, in a lot of situations people, like me, are willing to give up on good graphics... as long as the story is great. For example I still come back and play Diablo II or Age of Empires II... two of the greatest games on the planet : D

I think a reason why some people decide not to have a story in a game is because of people like this:
"Story in a game is like a story in a porn movie. It's expected to be there, but it's not that important." - John Carmack (game programmer for games like Doom, Quake and Rage )

I'm not sure if I'll even waste my time commenting on this...

The basic point of this presentation is to show people how many things are influenced by books and how successful they are because of it, because people love it. And encourage people to start reading : D Maybe I can throw in a list of awesome books that they could start off with c:

Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit Weapons - Royal Armouries

This was a weapon from the movie exhibition to celebrate the movie premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
I went to see it in January of this year because I'm a huge fan of both movies : D
"The exhibits were crafted in the past two years by swordsmith, Peter Lyon, and award-winning production workshop, Weta - creators of the original swords for both the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film productions."
I have read that Royal Armouries believe to be the only place to hold all of those weapons at once.
Even though they are not the weapons used in the movies, they were replicas. Crafted using the same designs, techniques and tools by Peter Lyon.
The purpose of the exhibition was to present how world-class sword makers use certain techniques to create highly detailed and impressive work through the use of wood working and metal crafting techniques.

The sword of Gandalf: Glamdring
It's a two- handed sword, named Glamdring (Sindarin: 'Foe-hammer').
The sword is inscribed with an Elvish strengthening spell in Cirith runes on the cross:
'Glandring Turgon, King of Gondolin, wields, has and holds the swords Glamdring, foe of Morgoth's realm, Hammer to the Orcs.'
It was designed by Ben Wootten, one of the Weta's concept artists, and this particular one crafted by Peter Lyon in New Zealand in 2010.

Sword of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins: The Sting.
Originally designed by Daniel Falconer, another one of Weta's concept artists. Crafted by Peter Lyon, in New Zealand in 2012

This weapon also has an Elvish inscription which translates as:
'Maegnas [Sting] is my name - I am the spider's bane'

Sting is probably my favourite of them all, mostly because of all the amazing details on the handle and the blade itself.  I personally don't like boring weapons, I think the ones that are decorated are the best : D

And the following swords are of Aragorn.
Anduril.

Originally called Narsil (red and white flame)
King Elendil used it against Sauron, during the battle of Dagorland.
His son Isildur cut the one ring in half, but shattered the sword.
Later re-forged by Elves into the sword Anduril.

And this is a sword he wielded as a Strider.

Bungie - Research

I love games. And if you know me you probably know that I am in love with this company.
So obviously I need to have a post of two about what they do.

So, Bungie is a game developer company. Established in 1991 by Alex Seropian later on joined by Jason Jones. I couldn't find an exact number of employees
http://bungie.wikia.com/wiki/List_Of_Bungie_Employees
but here I got a list of all sorts of employees. It doesn't look like many : D

I love it because those guys started from nothing, the first releases they were doing they had to assemble the boxes themselves. It gives me a little more hope that even though it's a big scary world out there I might just get to do what I want in an environment I'll love rather hating my job... Cause there is probably nothing worse than hating your job.
Obviously they weren't really popular till they hit Halo.
Halo is one of the greatest games ever made!
The first Halo, Halo: Combat Evolved, that came out in 2001 got around 6.43 million sales!
Halo 2 got ( more than Halo 4 mwahaha ) 8.49 million.
And Halo 3 hold the record for the biggest entertainment launch in history! And the fastest selling game ever!  with 11.76 million!
They did not make Halo FOUR NO! That's why it has certain aspects of the game that I personally dislike: maps are bad, they lag, and there isn't even a none of the above button! And most of the time you have no choice but to play an awfuly awful map. Because out of three awful maps people went for the least awful one because there was no None of the above button! Enough ranting about that though.

A little why I love the company; they are amazing at what they do, and they know it!

"About Us

Bungie was founded in 1991 with two simple goals:

  • Develop kick ass games that combine state-of-the-art technology with uncompromising art, captivating storytelling, and deep gameplay.
  • Sell enough copies of those games to fund our ongoing quest for total World Domination."

This is on their website. The sense of humour they have, you can see that the company is there, to entertain people, not really to make money. You can tell they really like to have fun not only can you see this in the way they address the fans but also in the games they create by leaving little jokes or bonuses here and there in the form of easter eggs. And I would really love to join their quest for total World Domination :c
But in that funny and being totally awesome way... people love them and they are making a lot of money, doing what they love and do best!

But with Halo being a huge success, they have now moved onto making another AMAZING game, Destiny.
It's way too awesome to be squeezed into a post about the company so I will leave this for another time but, I just wanted to say I can't wait to see more of their work cause I know it'll be too amazing for woooords : D

A few more screenshots of my game level

What I wanted to do is have a link of the game level for you guys to check out, but I can't seem to get it to work. It's on the dropbox website, and the link works and all I can open and play it. But when I try sending it to my friends it fails to download and all. Which is pretty disappointing cause I can show you what it looks like, but the sound is what makes it in my eyes and I can't share it : c
So yeah, here is what it looks like c:

I hope you don't think it's that bad :')
Please take into consideration it's my first ever game level too! : D

A few screen shots.

Here I have a few screen shots of the level.
I decided not to light the candle that's on top of the alchemy table and just add a greenish point light above it. Not too bright so it lights it, but just so it has that poisonous feel to it.

I decided not to add the fire to the fireplace. It makes it too bright and home-like.

I am not completely happy with the flame I have on the candle. But I didn't have enough time to play around with it D: Next time hopefully it'll go better. Cause here it's just like a wild child, it does whatever it wants to do.

Sound

These are some of the sounds and music I looked at when considering what I wanna use in my own work.
I mainly looked at halloween soundtracks etc. It's the easiest way to find scary and creepy sounds.
At first I wanted lots of sounds in it, heartbeat, slamming door laughs and all, then I realised it's waaaaay too many sounds for two little rooms! So I ended up only using two. I'm not going to spoil it and tell you which ones cause there's no fun in that. So you need to just have a look at the level and find out : D

Lighting

This is a hallway of my level, connecting the alchemy room and a bedroom. In between of those there is a door that's locked. But instead of it being just there, I wanted to make it more interesting, so I used a point light and chose a light blue colour. I then put it right beneath the door for it to look like it's coming through the gap at the bottom.

I used the same trick on my alchemy table.
I must say that it's looking pretty empty.
I think I was being too ambitious with wanting to do a torture chamber on top of all the other rooms, and I wasted a lot of time modeling and texturing stuff I'm not even going to use.
I wish I spent that time actually making a veriety of different jars and bottles like I planned.

Modeling - Stuff

Here I have my candle I modeled in Maya, and below I have a textured piece. I am going to add the fire using particles in Unity.

Pestle and mortar.

Desk

Window. I must admit I really hate it. I made another window before and I even animated the curtains, but I broke it -__- and I couldn't find a way to fix it... so I deleted it and started from scratch. But this time I used a different texture to cover the window and it's too bright. Looks awful. I'm going to redo it if I have time.

This is how I did my wardrobe. I didn't want to do the doors separately, so I did one and flipped it horizontally. And I couldn't find an option to do that, but I found out that you can just re-size it in one direction till it's flipped, and it worked!
 Finished Object

Door

Chest of draws
I am not sure what happened here. Well I sort of do know but I got told that this is the way you do it really... I sewed the edges of the sides... and so it connected it. and I believe that's what caused it to spaz out.
So from this point I didn't sew those edges together. Cause I didn't wanna waste more time on such things.

Fireplace

Floor

Shelf

Stone Wall

Bed
This I don't think I talked about before. I saw a similar thing in Oblivion... it's a stone bed, and you see vampires sleep on it, for example in the Dark Brotherhood.
I liked the idea so I made a similar thing myself.

Bucket

Chair

Alchemy Table

Cage for alive prisoners
I had a little play around with the alpha map on this one.
At first I made it this way but I thought the bars are too close together. So I just re-did the alpha map and added a new one on top of it.
It seemed to work. And here is my finished object.
Bookshelf
Before I started it I considered a few ways of doing it. I could uv map and texture every single book and shelf. Just the shelves or make a texture for a flat surface.
Considering the polygon count I decided to do the last of the options. And I must say it didn't turn out that bad! I spent hours and hours on it... but it was worth it. The reason why I spent hours is because I was a noob at the time, and because I still got the photographs of books, cut them out, and paste them on... one by one.

But I am very proud of the outcome! : D
