Animation - Research

Here I looked at more professional Lego animations. And by that I mean I just decided to talk about the cinematics from the Lego games ( which are very amazing by the way).

The first thing I noticed when I watched this is the beautiful statues, and how they're legos too, the texture on them is really impressive, probably one of the best textured things in the game!
I looked at the Lego animations because I wanted to talk about the movement. They don't stick to the actual lego movement they make it look more realistic by actually making the bodies more flexible etc. I suppose I could use the deformers to do this but I'm not sure if I'd have enough time to get it up to the quality I'd want it. I might try it out in the future but for now, not to complicate things too much for myself. I might just stick to the Lego toy movement.
Also I want the element of fun in my animation, just because Lego is a really childish funny thing, it'd be a crime to make it even half serious.
I won't have to worry as much about the face expression because of the fact that Darth Vader is wearing a mask. Unless I won't actually decide to go with the mask, then I'll probably create several textures in Photoshop in order to create those.
But back to the video, I have noticed the use for the Gobo I believe it's called, the Lighting technique where you actually project a light through an object, from one of our animation exercises. When I did the exercise I couldn't actually think of it's purpose till now! I've noticed it in the scene where Frodo walks through the forest and the way the light falls on him with the silhouettes of the leaves!
