After I created most of my assets there wasn't much left to do but to texture it.
This part is the one I feared of because as I've mentioned I've never painted textures before so I was looking forward to what it's going to be like!
The first few hours made me want to change my career. I wasn't really sure how to start it, where to start it...
I began with a base colour and added more and more detail with different colours on top of it.
Some of the colours I have taken from the actual photographs I've taken in the past, also the patterns etc. I find it easier to work that way, it's always good to have photos of all sorts cause you'll never know when you'll need them as a reference! : D
The hardest one I had to do was the wood, and 90% of my scene is made of wood... so I didn't make my life easy there. But I got over it. Now I look at it, I'm quite proud of myself!
With the hut colours I wanted to make them seem really aged etc that's why they aren't your natural brown.

Here's just a wall I've made just to show the difference in the two different styles. The one on the left is what I usually do, and the one on the right is what I had to do for this project.
