Once we've chosen the story we wanted to go for, there was nothing left to do but start thinking of the space this witchdoctor would live in.
Originally he was supposed to live in the middle of the dessert so I immediately started thinking of these round little huts, with very basic structures hay as the roof etc.
I thought it'd work quite well with a cauldron being the center of it and everything revolving around it.
When I thought of an inside of it I wanted to clutter the space, with all sorts of weird things, jars, herbs, books, dreamcatchers, creepy voodoo dolls etc.
Just to make it believable and a bit busy.
At this point I started doodling ^^
