So when we were agreeing on the style of our things we mainly talked about Diablo 3, Skyrim and legends of Zelda. Skyrim and Diablo I'm very familiar with but I needed to look into the Legends of Zelda.
Overall we were going for a really stylized environment.
Whenever I mentioned that people seemed to think that it's going to be just blocks of colours but that isn't the case even cartoons and things have a level of detail in them there are creases in the shirts, dirt marks, patterns etc. Even thought it's nothing crazy detailed it's still something and here I've just gotta understand how much is enough and to not cross the line with too much detail and ruin it.
The other thing is the colour pallet. I didn't want it to be really bright and happy, because it's not the kind of thing we want to go for. Stylized doesn't mean bright primary colours. Diablo is a great example of this, it's still very stylized yet mostly dark and creepy. And it's definitely something we wanted to go for.
